- "Roland Astin KARNAK - Roland Astin, 76, died at 10:35 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 1988, in Western Baptist Hospital, Paducah. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, in the Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak, with burial in Anderson Cemetery in Massac County. Visitation will be after 6 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Astin was the retired owner and operator of the Astin General Store in Karnak. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Karnak. He was born July 23, 1911, in Villa Ridge to William and Ada Astin. He married Helen Bunker. She preceded him in death. He married Irene Kinslow. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Gary Astin of Kaneville; three daughters, Lela Harrell of Horton, Mich., Sue Stubblefield of Grand Chain, and Connie East of Karnak; two stepsons, Marlin Mitchell of Sikeston, Mo., and James Mitchell of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two brothers, Claude Astin of Vienna, and Edgar Astin of Anna; 26 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren
